Speram ca in luna decembrie sa avem in oras doua blocuri ANL".

Primaria Simleu Silvaniei planuieste de asemenea achizitionarea unui teren in suprafata de aproximativ 5.000 metri patrati, pe care sa fie construite in anii urmatori alte 100 de locuinte ANL.

I will never forget seineg a beautiful small synagogue in a town called Roman. This was in 1973. A caretaker let us in and told us that no one ever came there. Of course, this was when Caucescou was running/ruining Romania. the synagogue, as I recall, was white washed inside and there were beautiful flowers painted on the walls..If any one has been there more recently please let me know its condition. My husband was on an exchange program and with 5 children we had very little money. I always regretted not giving a donation.

I am shocked and very sad at redanig the history of the Romanian Jews. Even more sad is the fact, that my community in Oradea (Nagyvarad) is not mentioned. Two great communities lived there, more than 30000 members, with two of the most famous rebbis in Western Romania: Rabbi Fuchs Mor (Ortodox) and Rabbi Kecskemeti (neolog). The big ortodox synagogue is still functioning, the famous Neolog Synagogue (Zion) is a museum. I don't know the present situation there, from the deported 30000 Jews hardly exists any of the survivors. There is some literature regarding the history of the Jews from Oradea. It would be worth saving it.27 May 2010 http://idxbsizkrzx.com jjnqdez [link=http://jkxignjvu.com]jkxignjvu[/link]

I am also second gtioraenen of the holocaust , Born in Oradea, my grandparents and they relatives were taken to the ghetto, which was around the orthodox synagogue streets. My grandparents and their youngest daughter was taken from there to Auschwitz where they were thrown to the gas chambers and the crematorium. It was a beautiful jewish community on which the local society flourished. Presently there are only a couple hundred jews all old and sick. There is poverty all around , unemployment. They lack the commercial establishments of the jews that gave financial support to the locals. Thank you for providing us with information about the jewish synagogues in Transylvania.
Very moving acoucnt.

Very moving acoucnt.I am from Transylvania, a from a small town 30 km from Tirgu Mures, named Reghin (Szasz Re9gen in hungarian). My mother's family is from a village Rastolitza (Ratosnya) and my father from Miercure Ciuc. Befor WWII he was the MD in a village near Reghin, Tancs. My mother and her family (Parents, 2 brothers) were deported and only she and a brother survived. My father was also taken with his wife and 10 months old son as well as his mother and a sister. He was the only survivor. In Reghin after WWII the Jewish population still amounted to about 10% most of them left, so did my family we left in 1963. In Reghin there were 2 synagogues. The last time I visited Romania, about 4 years ago the main synagogue was transformed in a warehouse! The hundreds of years of living together have been wiped out from the memory of the romanian people. In Rastaloti there is a moving jewish cemetery where my ancestors are buried. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to identify their tombs.
